Wasn't there a short-live camo experiment with one division at Normandy? Like two weeks and then it was withdrawn because they looked too much like the enemy? I ask because the architecture matches.

Yes, that's the beginning of the Normandy campaign with the cam uniforms that were withdrawn. All that early gear is worth a fortune now...

The Army p42 camo was used in Europe for a short time which these photos seem to be
from and the army p44 camo was used in the pacific. Ray
