    Interesting that GIs were issued shoe packs AND boots, over 90% discarded one or the other to reduce weight. The GCAicon Journal did an article on the subject of what MOS carried what weight and what was discarded to reduce it. Fascinating. They even threw away mess kit knives and forks, only kept the spoon!
    Real men measure once and cut.

    The guy doing the stick pointing has a M7 grenade launcher on his M1icon rifle. I wonder how long he kept it, as it made his rifle a straight pull only... no semi-auto function.

    If I recall ? only the Squad Leader or assistant squad leader were issued the M7 and very, very few ever attached
    the stock mounted sight in the field
