M1 Garand Fiberglass Rifle Scabbard

I have had this M1 Garand Scabbard for many years and would like to learn more about what I have. I could not find any markings at all. The scabbard appears to be sewn fiberglass with rivet reinforcement. The op rod protector is plastic and is riveted on. The scabbard is professionally made with leather loops for retaining straps riveted on. Can someone please identify this? Possible prototype? Could not find ANYTHING on the net.

Would it be a motorcycle scabbard? Pure speculation.

The finish on the material looks like it needs to be painted or is mounted internally in a vehicle.

Nope, not see these before. It's not in the books either. Too bad Bruce Canfield hadn't seen it when he was writing the book.

Are there NO makers marks anywhere? It looks good so I doubt it's a lashup...

"...appears to be sewn fiberglass..." I think it's canvas that had epoxy or the like put on vs fibreglas. Might have been made by a boat manufacturer though. I think it may be home made modeled on an M1938 scabbard.
I've only ever seen leather horse/motorcycle/jeep/truck scabbards. That exact scabbard in leather is everywhere.

"That exact scabbard in leather is everywhere" Exactly! And would have been much easier, faster, and cheaper to get one of leather than make a new one of what appears to be fiberglass and wood. By the way, this does show a lot of wear to the leather loops for the retaining straps so was used by someone, somewhere.

Sometimes you can stumble onto weird stuff like this through a strategic google image search.
I spent a few minutes searching various combinations...I got nothing.

Then we'll find out it's like the Hotpoint bayonet, very scarce and wasn't approved for service. And very expensive.
