I picked up the NAGANT 1895 Revolver Thursday and took her to the range with me Friday. I have to tell you that I did not expect this revolver to be a pleasure to shoot as it was, I thought it might be clunky. That does not so say it doesn't have features I don't care for, it does. Like extracting the spent casings, the push level just doesn't get it for some of the Russan surpluse I was shooting, some would stick in the cylinder and I had to coax them out with a tappity tap. Of course this was more the ammo than the gun as I did not have this issue with PPU modern commercial ammo. Of course, the Double Action trigger pull was HORRENDOUS but expected.
But other than those two things, I was "happy happy happy" as Phil Robertson would say. I still have to get use to the sights, I did not due to well with it. The first group was shot with Sovietamm with a headstamp 38 88, so I'm guessing it was manufactured in 1988? The second was with PPU not sure how old 14 rounds came with the pistol in its holster.
I aso got a Chinese SKS in the same batch of firearm I purchased, info to follow.
