I think they are a wee bit too close to each other.
Seems to me that the photographer is on the wrong side of the mine clearing. Just saying.

Is the marine on the left wearing sunglasses for mine clearing or has he got two black eyes?
i think it's just a shadow - or he's got his cap on under the pot.
The cool thing is I have all three of the implements the boys were planning to use. My thought would have been a piece of C4 and 50' of Det Cord, now those I don't have. My FIL brought the machete back from the Pacific, he was a Navy aircraft mechanic who was mostly island bound. Unfortunately the scabbard did not accompany the blade.
