    Original IWS Bracket

If anyone is interested there is an original IWS bracket for the L42A1 sniper rifle for sale on a FaceBook selling page called Contact Right Militaria.

Their stuff is always first rate, and usually impossible to find elsewhere.

I'm a very satisfied past customer.

On the subject of IWS brackets, given the lack of markings, is it even possible to establish 'genuine' from repro?

Yes you can. Before being finished in suncorite (the original, not today’s version) the bracket was green phosphate coated, this can not be replicated today due to the old ingredient being banned. Furthermore the fixings are imperial. None of the contact points on original brackets were painted to preserve collimation, this exposes the original phosphate finish which assists when judging original or fake. Hope that helps.

Has an Aldis case for sale too, or what is stated to be one.

    Bracket is original IMHO.
“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”

Much changes, much remains the same.
