Probably a West Point Grad. They never take off their class rings. LOL!!

If that's the case, then the carbine is his and the rifle is the wounded man's.

You can see from this picture why it's better to wound than to kill. If the guy was dead; one less enemy. But wounded; you've taken 3 guys off the line.

True. A leg wound keeps him out of the fight for about three months, depending.
