    Martini Henry 22 LR

    Hello all,

I would have the opportunity to buy this rifle: it is a .22 caliber Martini.

I think it is a commercial rifle: no manufacturer' name on the action and I don't see any military marks.

    What do you think?

    Thank you.

The conversion appears to be commercial. In the late 1960's I used one similar to the one you show except for its double aperture sight for bullseye target shooting. It was marked on the right side of the action - Converted by C. G. Bonehill (of Birmingham?) for the Society of Miniature Rifle Clubs - as best I can recall. Shot very well.

I have a weakness for .22 trainers. And, a .22 martini action is very enjoyable to shoot. If it was me and the price wasn't ridiculous for the location, I'd probably buy it.

Converted from larger calibre, according to breechblock.
