epoxy in tapped receiver?

EDIT: WARNING - the pictures below are so sad, it has hurt some members' eyes to look at them.
Saw this sad bubba for sale. Is that jb weld or some other epoxy in the holes? JB's website says only way to remove it is to heat to above 600F melting point, or drill/grind it out.
The holes in the rear look to have welds in them?

It is not worth the trouble as there are too many nicer receivers around

I agree it's lots of trouble - but the prices are through the roof right now, and the trouble may make this one a steal even in good times.
My thoughts would be to either drill it out and re-plug properly, or heat rod or old punch with a torch super hot and "touch" the epoxy, or combination thereof.
I don't have any welding experience. Am I right the rear holes have welds in them? I'm likely to pass unless the price stays low enough for a paper weight.

from the looks of it someone may already hit that receiver with a torch. You can see the discoloration from heat. If they did, the temper may be in question.

The rear holes DO look like weld. One of the poorest jobs I've seen too. The JB weld would likely drill out like powder and if you have the tap then clean it again. Whole thing turns to powder when you do that. Then touch with wire feed...correctly. You can also use filler screws set in and loctite high so you can clean them down and cold blue.

They are welds you can see the colouration rings from the heat generated with the weld, does this type of welding affect the tempering of the action!

No big deal, there are others. I wonder if you need one...the guys here may have a decent one? Or was this just opportunity knocking?
