    British proofed SW 1917 45acp

I believe this one of the 21,000 SW 1917's That Englandicon bought from U.S.iconSteel in 1940 along with Lewis machineguns and stokes mortar's from U.S.Steel to overcome the neutrality laws pre-lend lease and the U.S. declaring war in 1941. British proof Crown on every cylinder and frame with proof mark.

Oops first 2 are SW hand ejector, last 3 are British proofed SW 1917 45acp. Thanks for looking. I have not seen another.I heard Home guard and the R.A.F used them. It uses 45acp in moon clips. It is U.S.iconProperty marked. They were pulled from stores to be sold to Englandicon in 1940 before the U.S. entered the war. They were sold through the U.S. Steel company in a sneak sale to avoid the Neutrality law of the U.S.
