    First Time at the Range

Saturday, I took my youngest daughter (11) to the range.
    What a great day!
    She was safe, accurate, enthusiastic.
100 rounds with our wonderful Walther PP Sport in .22 LR.

    Her first 5 shots.

Excellent start and definitely the right pistol. I used to keep a Beretta 70/71 on hand to teach women shooting. Small enough to handle and operate themselves...always got the same reaction first time they hit a target. Eyes wide and a surprised "I HIT IT!!!"...
    Regards, Jim

Any shot that hits the target is good! Makes them not afraid to come along for more later.

    That's great Ovidio!
My daughter has not shot pistol yet; but she started .22 rifle shooting at 7 years old.
We also shoot 10m air rifle at home. She is starting to beat us occasionally! She is now 10 years old.
A week ago I told her that if she got the highest score against the wife and I; we would take her karting!

My wife and daughter were both using the CZ455 with Tasco scope. I was using the 1918 SMLE with AG Parker sight; so at a slight disadvantage!

So we are going karting next week! She shot 183/200 beating my wife by 1 point. I shot a 173/200. This was at 50 metres with a 1cm 10 circle.
it's great fun shooting with the family.

Very good to see. Hooked my niece with a 10-22 with a red dot. It's fun when you actually hit stuff, especially reactive targets. Her current favorite is a SIG P365. It fits her smaller hand, and she has grown to no longer fear recoil.

I agree, my son loves his 10/22 with a red dot on it. Him that gun and a 25 round magazine is nothing but pure bliss. He is 10.

Just wait till they're old enough for a 10/22 with a Franklin Armory binary trigger .
