Beware - possible scam by Terryg
I've been advised by member Vogel605 to check the following new member.
Member Terryg joined 11-13-2021 using email address mitchjustin705@gmail.com and redirecting members to another address, as he claims that person has the item they WTB/WTS. This action clearly violates our terms of service agreement.
Terryg has only made one public post, but he's sent 10 PM (Private Messages) for various items redirecting them to contact zipparodavid@gmail.com.
He says he’s in San Francisco but his sending IP address is in Seattle, Washington.
I have deleted ALL of his incoming and outgoing PM's and I've have permanently banned him.
Note: To reduce fraudulent activity, we do not allow re-direction selling on our site, which means using our PM (Private Messaging) system instructing another member to contact third parties at a different email address than the one registered with our site. Only direct sales from our WTS/WTB/WTT classifieds area. Anyone doing this will be immediately banned for life without any recourse.
Another bait and switch scam.
Regards,
Doug
Follow up action: These online scams in popular firearms forums have become more prevalent in the last few months. This has prompted us to take interventionist action to try and block their simple and un-moderated free registration to our site. Therefore, for increased protection of our members, effective immediately we will place ALL new registrations in an Awaiting Moderation queue until we are able to validate their claimed geographic location against their registered IP address, and be satisfied that their intent to use our site is legitimate. If this doesn’t work, then we’ll ban ALL new registrations except those where the registrant is able to provide a referral from a current member who is in good standing. The latter action may cause some hardship for legitimate milsurps collectors, but the purpose of it is to prevent our real members from being separated from their hard earned money, by these scamming miscreants.
Note: BEFORE sending money to anyone you should check our online iTrader Member Ratings (click here) and also this Appraisals, Fakery, Dispute Resolution & Mediation Forum (click here) for current listings of these scammers.Information
