Ross rifle sights on a Lee Enfield?

I picked up 2 Sutherland Rifle Sight Co. Ross rifle rear sights at an estate sale. The elderly gentleman said that the peep sight had been mounted on a Lee Enfield. Can anyone confirm or debunk this statement? Without a special mounting bracket, I can't see how the sight could have been mounted on a No.3 or 4. Of course, being a peep sight it would have to be close to the shooters eye.

They were installed for target shooting and mainly by the DCRA.
The ones I have are installed on Long Lee's
They were also installed on the Ross using a bridge. Sutherland made a bridge for this.
The DCRA did strange things with sights and as long as they were military they were allowed to be used in competition.

Thank you Sir! I've seen pics of the "V" notch sights on the Long Lee, but the peep sight would have to be mounted near to the shooters eye, hence my question as to which of the Lee series of rifles it may have been installed on. Any Ross rifle parts are scarce now, but from what I've been able to gather thus far, the peep sight is a truly rare bird indeed.

Of course, being a peep sight it would have to be close to the shooters eye.

A lot of the early ones weren't - such as the Buffington sight, and variations on it, fitted to Trapdoors, Krags and Springfields.

Before the brackets-on-the-side became popular the official sight bed was the only thing allowed on the LM/LE.
