Hey guys,
Just wanted to show you the completed NorwegianKrag
M1912 Carbine I just got back. If you frequent CGN then you may have seen it there. It started life as a typical sporter with the wood cut down but the barrel is still the correct length. It had also been drilled and tapped on the side for a peep sight. I gathered up the requisite parts from Numrich and sent the whole lot to Nick at Vulcan Gun Refinishing. As it had been D&T'd I told him not to worry about redoing the metal finish - I'll hold off on doing that until I can find a better, more worthy example. Nick and his crew tackled making the stock and handguards pretty much from scratch. As you can see from the pictures (they sent me dozens throughout the process!) they did a great job. Everything is right and tight and the finish is great. We didn't drill the stock for the cleaning rod as I don't have one and have never seen one out in the wild! If I ever track one down then perhaps I'll be able to finish it off. I can't thank or recommend Vulcan enough - they did an awesome job! Don't hesitate to contact them if you have a major project you want to get going with. Now, if there is enough interest, I may send the rifle to Prestigous to get some copies of the stock and handguards made up. Please comment below if you'd be interested in a stock set - it's an expensive proposition to tool up to make a set so I'd need to know if there is a demand.
