The first American soldiers to use M1icon Garand rifles against the Nazis in World War II were 50 men of the U.S. 1st Ranger Battalion during the ill-fated Dieppe raid in Franceicon on Aug. 19, 1942.

I was thinking of the Achnacarry Commando Depot

"Lt. Derek Burr of a Commando Depot stands behind four men of a Ranger unit whom he is instructing in the use of a M.1. Rifle.

(L-R): Pfc. Vernon Dougherty of Altoona, Pa., Pfc. Chas. Perachka of Mercer, Pa., Cpl. Alonzo Colds of Todd, N.C., and Cpl. Laurence Hickman of Bishopville, Md."

    Date: 7 February 1943.

Well, three M1s and a 1903. Vernon there has an old 1903, but it's a nice honest one.
