    OI Mi bayonet

I have two mi bayonets one is a UC cut down by pal. The other is a OL 1943 cut down bayonet. I was going to sale the OL to a friend because the UC is in a little better shape. But then someone told me to keep the OL because a 43 cut down OL is rare it this true

The full length version would be valuable. The cut down bayonets are around.

Is the bayonet date stamped 1943? If so it is not as common but as a cutdown bayonet the date doesn’t add a lot to value.

I would suggest looking at eBay before making any decisions. Full length bayonets tend to bring premiums with all types. Cut down bayonets seem to tend to be determined more on the type of cut down that was done. Those with a straight top edge and sharp point tend to be worth more than those that have a rounded point. As others have said, I don't think the year stamp has much impact on value.

The best advice is to keep both. Don't mix business, i.e. selling, and friendship.

The rare bayonet is the OL, dated 1943, M1icon, 10" original blade, not a cut-down.
