Enfield No4 Mk1..nose cap rivets vs pins

I have seen both rivets and pins being sold..which is proper? I am using a repro stock which has the holes drilled for rivets but I have no problem drilling and using pins if those are acceptable.

The No4 is not my area of expertise but i'm almost certain the the fore end used only steel pins to retain the caps.
The hand guards caps on the other hand used only brass rivets.
