He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose
There are no great men, only great challenges that ordinary men are forced by circumstances to meet.
Great pictures.
For anyone visiting Northern VA, the war dog memorial is one of dozens of monuments for battles or noteworthy units along a trail that winds through the woods of the Marine Corp Museum in Quantico. It's a nice walk any time of year. The museum is pretty good too. If you visit in the summer time, the Evening Parade with the USMC marching band and the Silent Drill team runs every Friday night (weather permitting) at the barracks parade ground at 8th and I streets. Both the museum and parade are free to the public.
Very sad the loss of a service dog in action.
