Replica of WW2 Japanese Army Sapper Type 98 Spade/Shovel

I collect entrenching tools but am not crazy enough to pay $900 for a Japaneseicon one. So, I went reproduction. From what I can tell, this is a very accurate representation of the period shovels and it cost roughly $60. Huge problem getting it, the seller shipped the shovel head separate from the handle and cover and they came in a few weeks. Something happened with the head and it was returned to the seller and he shipped it a second time just in time for it to be caught up in the latest complete lockdown. Been sitting in the port of export for nearly two month.

As far as shovels go, this one is a nice one. It's almost full sized and considering the Japanese were of smaller stature, this would probably be about perfect size for say a US Jeep shovel in comparison. Makes out entrenching shovels look like toys.

Looks for all the world like they copied the M10 shovel.

It’s about the size of a jeep shovel.
