W-U on carbine top wood ??

Picked up a nice Inland w/11-43 w/IBM barrel. Stock is nice dark hardwood that really looks to have not been sanded, etc but has no marks on it at all. High wood with an oval oiler slot. The matching top wood has 'W-U' stamped underneath in capitol letters.

Can anyone tell me what the 'W-U' manufactuer is??

    Thanks

That's probably a partial stamping of LW-U. Lumb Woodworking for Underwood.
