Alright I have to ask, what's with the guy with the Thompson and double stacked corporal stripes?

Never mind I see it now sergeant and a crease in his sleeve above the top stripe. No worries the new glasses I ordered should be in by next week.

I believe the individual with the Thompson is in the Brazilian Army. I think he is a Second Sergeant.

By all accounts, many GIs really liked the Thompson. Heavy as hell but a popular weapon in city fighting. I had a limo driver who went through the entire European campaign with Patton, never got a scratch. He traded his M1 for a Thompson when they landed and swore by it. His platoon stole a Jeep from the MPs, used it to carry their gear. Just before they shipped out for home they drove it into the local river. He served 30 years as a motorcycle cop in Newark, hell of a guy. Cleve Ledford from Okmulgee, Oklahoma.

Mark-- I believe the rank that you posted is post-WWII. Brazil has a rich history of action in WWII.
