Now there's a question we haven't seen in about 10 years. I forget the answer, but I have asked it myself, many years ago. Most people just post them in General. I think there is enough interest, and it would make it easier to find them.
If you are looking for Frencharms, just search for the appropriate model and you'll find them, they are here.
Thank you. That helps.
Maybe part of the problem is they are made to not be taken apart (36, 49, 49/56) so many don't attempt it and don't need the advice found here? I would support a Frenchforum just because I have historical questions reference my rifles.
I have a Frenchcartridge that was manufactured expressly for the French 1886/93 rifle
It is a special cartridge without a bullet but with a powder charge to launch the Viven-Bessieres message rifle grenade used by the French Infantry from 1916-1918. The message grenade has a small parachute and will emit yellow smoke for recovery. This was used in the trenches to send messages. The standard VB grenade has a hole in the center so service cartridges are used to rifle grenades. Only the Lebel rifle was used.

I don't think that's the reason. A lot of people post here just to share what they have and ask general reference questions like you suggest. A French forum really makes sense as they were a major power in the world and have a rather unique everything when it comes to firearms.
You could argue that you can't have every nation in the world and i agree with that, but the US and Great Britain/Commonwealth have multiple forums on individual rifle types. Germany
doesn't have a forum either, but everyone just posts everything German in the Mauser section and it works.
Back in the day when I was still buying things and was seeking or purchasing French rifle after French rifle, I wanted a French forum real bad, for both information and to show off things.
Always wanted an original Lebel WW1 sniper rifle, very difficult to locate. interesting that the Lebel rifle was the only service rifle to be used as a sniper with scope.
There was also a
small number of Lebel rifles that had the Winchester A5 scope installed - could have been for testing ?
The other rare Frenchcarbine is the CR39 bolt action with folding stock. Often faked years ago with SARCO parts making originals quite rare

You have the right way, the wrong way, and the Frenchway, which isn't anything like the first two.
