    Yep. Ergonomics...for when the gunner needs to lean on it during all the hurry up and wait manouvers.

    Hope ol mate does not slip a bit and grab the left 50's barrel judging by the empty ammo can he's just made the enemy duck so she'd be a tad warm!
    In fact you can still see the smoke wafting out from the muzzle so he may have eliminated the threat, he has the top cover open so I guess ready to feed in a new belt.

    Wondered if it was something like that.; a larger diameter would helped that. A piece of split HD hose might be been better, but maybe the storesmen and mechanics weren't cooperative.
