Dave, Major Bruce P. Crandall was the helo pilot depicted in the movie whose call sign was Snake. He, too, was awarded the MOH for the same action. Rick

Ed Freeman was the other pilot in that movie, call sign "Too Tall" as he was well over 6 foot tall. The book and later movie was "We Were Soldiers Once and Young".
