These are very difficut to locate and were only used on the first few hundred production rifles.
Note the absence of the hammer pad, it was soon discovered that the momentum of cocking the hammer necessitated a reinforced surface or hammer stop and a large pad was added to production. A new revision number was not used. Later these pads would be reduced in size during both rebuilds and production with the introduction of the round top safety.
