first production M1 rifle trigger housing

These are very difficut to locate and were only used on the first few hundred production rifles.

Note the absence of the hammer pad, it was soon discovered that the momentum of cocking the hammer necessitated a reinforced surface or hammer stop and a large pad was added to production. A new revision number was not used. Later these pads would be reduced in size during both rebuilds and production with the introduction of the round top safety.

This trigger housing was a gift from the late James McCollum

"Mac" found the no pad trigger housing on a returned rifle from Denmarkicon. not much need to fake one unless your rifle
is under the 200 serial number range !

Lots of neat older parts and a few very early rifles came into Lever Arms Vancouver when the Danishicon rifles appeared. The late John Robertson from this forum also worked on them at the time. He said there were three digit rifles and even a couple two digit rifles.

Here are two that later were available to me...

I remember those two serial numbers, two collectors on the east coast had them for awhile. A few consecutive late two digit serial number rifles also were found.

I bought a early trigger housing from John Robertson long ago
