    HMS.Hood for years unseen.

Just watched this doco so great an artifact that spanned 2 capital ships the Battleship Hood WWI and the Battle Cruiser Hood WWII came home, as a marker for those of her that have no known grave except the sea.
Found it very interesting not sure if Ted Briggs was still alive when the bell came home.
Postscript ~ Sadly Ted passed away in 2008 he was one of only 3 that survived the Hoods sinking and the last survivor left alive. RIP

My grandfather watched the Special Service Squadron steam through First Narrows at the entrance to the harbor at Vancouver, B.C. Canadaicon in 1924. The Special Service Squadron, comprised of the HMS Hood, HMS Repulse and several light cruisers toured the world during the Empire Cruise and visited many countries who had all fought in the Great War. Little did the people watching these two battle cruisers steam that day know of the sad fate awaiting the two battle cruisers.
