We have names for some parts of the 1911 model pistols, but I check thru the patents quite often and have found that Browning's parts names described in the patents differs from what has been in use for a great many years.
We refer to a mainspring Browning does not,he refers to it as a hammer spring and describes it only as a spring that powers the hammer, and there.s the spring we call a recoil spring,Browning refers to it as a charging spring in his description of operation,I would like to see the earliest spare parts lists to what the names were at the outset.
