Enfield Mk1 #111 * Major help info request
Ok, need as much "help" as I can get on this one.
First Many Thanks to Muffett.2008 for his lists.
Also, Thanks to Jay Currah's Lee Enfield Web Site.
and everyone that posts and shares on this website.

I'm going to try to post a lot of pics, due to so many (to me) interesting marks and different dates.
My guess is this Enfield was either built or rebuilt in 1953. It seems to have a lot of parts with a lot of different dates. What gives??
Starting with a 45 stamped by the barrel end of the Lithgowicon receiver then install a 54 stamped barrel then mix in a buttstock that seems to have 2 dates of 44 and 49 and then finish by stamping the normally marked area of the receiver with 1953. Then call it a Mk1 #111 Enfield. All with what seems to be a serial number stamped in 4 spots of F40222. Which can list in Muffetts list in either the 44F column or in the 1953 column. See last pic.
I added several other pics that I thought were interesting, like the matching number on the bolt handle and the receiver, 765. I have not tried to figure out the stamping that was under the barrel in the front on the wood.
    INTERESTING. LOL

Add in, it also seems to have import marks of JJ?? NY, NY .303

On with the show. Wait, I mean pictures.

Many Thanks to anyone with some great info.

I have to add, I really like this Enfield.

    THANKS

    Later 42rocker

First uo it is a No1Mk3*
The action date has been scrubbed and 1953 applied. The last run built by Lithgowicon.
The different dates on componets is when they were made. The 765 number is the PAA number showing the action and bolt are a match.
The L is for a LONG Butt. SLAZ is for Slazenger the wood /furniture maker. The other stamp is the inspector stamp and finally the stamp on the charger bridge is the American importer who bought the rifle from the Aussie Gov.

The action date next to the barrel date should be explained now as well as the small parts

yep, Bindii summed it up, I have one with a scrubbed and restamped receiver also...1942, which makes a mockery out of the claim about all new production.

An interesting and honest rifle imported by John Jovino in the late 1980s.
