    27 Aug 2023 Garand Picture of the Day



    Marines Sniping at Enemy - Marine snipers in Korea return enemy fire. Private First-Class William G. Silke, Jr. Left Son of Mr. and Mrs. William G. Silke, Sr. 937 Grand St., Brooklyn, New York, and Sergeant G.E. Montalvo, whose wife, Patricia Ann, lives a t 34 Temple St., Boston Mass., are serving with the First Marine Division in Korea.

    Long after the Korean war and into the late 1960's, there were still Model 1918A2 BAR's in the National Guard Battalions without the carrying handle.
