    Not MILSURP

It's opening day of dove season and I am ready. The latest shiny object. A CZ 20 gauge side by side, classic English style bird gun. Double triggers, extractors, manual safety, case colour sideplates...How classy is that? All I need to channel my inner POM are tweed plus fours and a deerstalker cap! It ain't Audley Street, but the Turks do a commendable job of building a gun us mere peasants can afford.

Beautiful. Classic lines, fine engraving and stock work.

No self respecting Scotsman would be found in anything other than a Harris Tweed. 100% virgin hand woven wool, handmade in Scotland. They're the only clothier I know that actually puts serial numbers on their coats. I have one approaching 30 years old and I get nothing but compliments about it.

That is pretty. You mentioned ‘Turks”. Does CZ have these made in Turkey? I know Turkishicon walnut is often very nice. CZ is based in the Czechicon republic…with US offices…but the Turkey connection. Interested in learning more.

An aside: I grew up with 16 ga shotguns for upland game, including a side-by-side but not nearly as nice as this one. But it seems the 16 gauge is history nowadays? I never see the shells on shelves anymore. Just curious.

16 shotguns are still being made. For shells, Ammoseek lists #2 - #8 shot and some are making different style /weight slugs.
In my collection I have and sometimes use my Grandfathers Browning sweet 16 to turkey hunt. When I order shells I order extra for my neighbors 2 daughters who shoot clays with 16's in a youth club. Rare for our small local shops to carry a decent selection if any at all. For a shotgun I grew up shooting a 28 gauge
