swap meet find around the millenium , guy said he just wanted rid of it , that it was a jammomatic , cant remember what i paid but it was less than a hundred ,got it home and sure enough would not cycle brick ammo at all , put some CCI mini mags in a wa'la , just needed premium high velocity , guy must of not tried to figure it out , also the natural tendency is to hold the mag , but the mag has the feed lips so when you hold the mag you change the feed angle , not the most accurate

everything breaks down and stores in the butt stock and is water proof so it floats , the O ring though has long dry rotted and broke , i really need to try and find one that fits

I've had a couple or so over the years. The biggest mistake I think is guys using them as a regular plinker. They aren't. I used snappy ammo, forget Stingers or Yellowjackets and had leading. Long streaks that had to be forced out with a cleaning rod without attachments. They all functioned fine I think but they showed wear faster than others. I sold them all through time to guys that wanted them for their intended purpose.

I also tried the little skeletal Broncos and they were OK too but no great shakes. A Remington nylon is super light and will carry and work just fine if you want light, I still like the steel and walnut types.

those nylons are moving into the verge of collectable territory these days , they range from anywhere from $350 to $500 now depending on how its dressed , this Armalite is more of a conversational piece , i break it out maybe once a year on a .22 day

Our halloween gun show last had one man with about five variations to sell and all priced within reach. Around here some of them go for over a grand... 66 and the like are less unless they're mint.

I grew up with an Armalite survival rifle in the house. It was fun but not particularly accurate and there was that feed problem.

My "survival" gun I took on all my hunting trips was a Savage Model 24 in .22 RF over 20 gauge. I kept the camp fed with Grouse with that neat little rifle. I think I paid $75 for it used with a leather case for carrying it when it was broke down. They're selling North of $500 here in the U.S. now.

They're way more than that here. Anything walnut and blue that's well made in that class is hard to find and expensive.
