Frank and Warren Survival Axe (Vietnam Era Modified Woodsman's Pal)

Just learned about these a couple of weeks ago and had to have one. Found an unissued example reasonably quick. Had some slight surface rust I wiped off, the black stuff is a waxy goo put on at the factory. A lot of it's off but some remains. Paper tag instead of a stamping, I don't think the stamp is under the tag either. Could be this is one of the earliest produced, 1964.

For whatever reason, these are about one inch smaller than the earlier Woodsman's Pal issued during WWII. The Woodsman's Pal has been sold on the civilian market for years and is still in production. This style was made by both companies for the military.

Nice. I had one that was available through Recce Pl stores when I was running it and took one home. It was much newer though, wood scales and no scabbard. I like the leather with knuckle bow.
    Regards, Jim
