According to the morons on the local MSNDNC affiliate Canada landed on Juneau Beach on June 6th, 1944. They should never let millennials write chyrons.

Oh, that's okay. Fox News had a reporter on who said Operation Neptune* was the airdrop that occurred after the landing craft came in. Mmmm... Uh... Two for two. That erases Pegasus Bridge and Sainte-Mère-Église. What the heck is John Steele's parachute doing up on that church?

The kiddy working in the supermarket this morning didn't know what date it is today. Obviously he hadn't seen or heard any of the D-Day commemorations yesterday and presumably didn't know what happened on the 6th June 1944.

Obviously, a big Remembrance Celebration in Normandy yesterday. But with all the Politicians and heads of State; it's almost impossible for the public to get anywhere near the beach.
So a lot of people will be there this weekend.
Unfortunately I can't make it this year. But I will get the Jeep out for a drive at the weekend!
