RTI Has Some Cleaning Rods For Sale

Figured I'd pass this along because there might be a couple of other crazies here trying to get odd ball cleaning rods.

Currently, they have the Russianicon Berdan II, The Italianicon 1870/87 VETTERLI, 10.4×47, Dutch 1871/79 BEAUMONT, Italian 1870/87/15 VETTERLI, several varieties of Carcano's and a few Mausers of different types.

They seem to be selling fast as they had Gras cleaning rods last night and they have none today. The Beumonts just showed up today as well as the Berdans.

They are rough, not going to lie but if you want an original, the prices really aren't that bad. I've had to pay a lot more than what they are asking for reproductions.

I ordered a Berdan and an 1870/87 Vetterli, I need one for my carbine so I'll have to cut it down and re-thread the end but for $30, can't let that go. Berdan is $35.

Cleaning rods came yesterday and I fitted them today. The Berdan had an inch and a half of packed in crap I had to get out first. Took the barrel and action off and worked the nut loose from the inside, once that was out I could tap the hard plug out a little at a time, break it up and remove it. Once that was done, the rod fit perfectly. The Vetterli was 9 3/4 inches too long, measured 5 times, cut it and threaded the end. This was actually easier than getting the plug out of the Berdan. Learned something new about the Berdan also. I have the wrong bayonet on it. With the cleaning rod in place, this bayonet no longer fits. It is for the Berdan II dragoon rifle, not the full length rifle. So I'm bayonet hunting again.

Glad I got my Berdan rod when I did, they almost doubled the price after all but two or three were sold.
