Thompson 3 Cell Mag Pouch Seen On eBay Original Or Repro?

I noticed this Thompson 3 Cell 30 rnd. mag pouch being offered on eBay. Judging from the price being asked for it, presumably, the vendor believes it to be an original wartime example.

I wondered what the views are here, please, original or repro?

Looks original to me but it's not worth anything near that money.

Yeah, its about double what they normally go for.....it would be expensive at $150, let alone 200+.
Just the thing for putting round holes in square heads.

TSMG 30 rd three cell pouch

The ink stamps are really clear for being 80 years old ? Either way, original of fake, price is way too expensive.

photos show an original NOS pouch that was purchased a very long time ago.

You have to compare construction , color and markings

Agreed, but the machines made SO many during that time, they're still coming out of the woodwork new. This one comes from Greece(?) I think and they used lots of them. Looking at the other pics show a bit of wear. Still way over the top for price.

    collecting TSMG drum pouches

I use to pick-up these drum pou ches up years ago but now there is alot of fakes around. the really rare pouches are the UKicon manufacture. There was a 100 rd pouch too but not really military except for the pre WW2 USMC.

I understand that some US 50rd drum pouches were converted to hold 12 ga shotgun shells and issued with shotguns ? any information ?

Thanks for the replies. There are a lot of opinions on US pouches on the internet but it doesn't all agree and some is conflicting information.

My thoughts on seeing the pouch on eBay were that it was probably a genuine pouch but I was unsure about the originality of the markings. I seem to recall reading somewhere that there was only one maker of USMC webbing/pouches in WW2? Is that correct?

The price does seem very expensive but presumably the justification is having "USMC" stamped on it.

There is another one on eBay right now for $90, same markings, just not as clear. Condition seems about the same, it's just the manufacturer stamp that isn't clear.
