    Texas earthquakes

There was a 4.3 close to my ranch , 3 days later a 5.1 with the center 600 yards from my cabin . Two days later I went down to check on the cabin . Other than stuff falling from shelves it was fine . BUT I got a 4.5 while I was there . So my cabin seems to be quake proof , at least up to 5.1 .

Some immediatelly attribute eathquakes in North Texas to fracking activity and there might be some evidence backing that claim however if true then I would rather stresses in the Earth's mantle were released in a series of minor tremblors than saving it up for a big one. Fracking has more benefits for Mankind than simply giving us access to incalculable quantities of natural gas.

How far North are you? We're not feeling anything in Denton County.

The quakes are happening in the fault line between Snyder and Roby . All the wells there are doing oil , not nat gas . The biden admin shut down the gas production from these well about 3 years ago . Ovidio may remember the 4oo ft rise to the north with all the rock pushed up .

First earthquake I experienced I was sure my furnace blew up. Ran to the basement to check it and it was fine, went outside and all the neighbors were on their porches wondering what was going on. I've lived in Pennsylvania my entire life and never even knew we had earthquakes until I moved to my current location and started experiencing them. 4.whatever is about the max. We just had another a month or so ago but I didn't feel it as I was driving at the time. Probably just thought I hit a pothole.

Mid 80's here in central lower Michigan a friend was visiting while I was laid up in a wheelchair. When he suddenly said did you feel that? We just had a earthquake. I laughed it off and said it was just a train going by. When he asked where is the nearest train? I couldn't think of one. It was on the news that night. Sitting in that chair, guess I just couldn't feel it.

Years later our whole town felt the explosion from a house about 8 miles out when it blew apart when their hot water heater became a rocket. That family had left earlier to go grocery shopping.

Good luck to anyone in areas prone to quakes.

"I feel the vibes" is a remark that always catches the attention of people around us here

Britishicon Columbia, especially the coast is part of the Pacific "Ring of Fire" and very active seismically. I remember feeling theshock wave when Mt. St. Helen's cooked off and on a clear day you can see the steam vent on Mt. Baker. The "Lions" and Mt. Garibaldi are all extinct volcanoes and there are hot springs all over B.C.

We have no volcanos here. Just minor earthquakes and small tornadoes. We do get hurricanes and Nor'easters which can be pretty severe. Biggest hurricane was Agnes which hit when I was a kid. I remember the only way into the "big" nearby town was by driving between the railroad tracks. It was the one and only time our basement ever flooded
