    Remingtn M1903 mystery

I bought a M1903 from an auction. It is a 1942 Remington/Springfield/Smith-Corona concoction. The barrel is dated RA 7/42, and the receiver is RA s/n 322xxxx. that appears to be a correct combination. The s stock is evidently a vintage WW 1 Springfield stock with script inspector and proof stamps plus an AAJ rebuild stamp. that being said, this had to be a "collectable" rebuild since the Remington barrel/receiver is a WW2 manufacture. I have posted previously about this rifle, but I did not disassemble it. I appreciated the comments that were posted. Well, I finally disassembled it and what a concoction. Per the pix, the trigger guard has a marking on it, and I have no idea what that is. The bolt is a Smith-Corona bolt. The hand guard has no stamps but was neatly fitted to the rifle with paper shims. I assume the trigger guard is from an outsourced manufacturer and also neatly fitted to the rifle.
