    M1887 sling marked for RIA put

    Part of an auction lot of slings. Id'd as an 1887 and I found a stamp today that suggests Rock Island Arsenal E H.S.

    Proofhouse.com says EHS is for Emil H Schmitten Leather Goods.

    Is this likely a military sling as opposed to commercial?
