    As-issued Service Rifle Matches

Best at the recent match using the SR-1 targets at 100 yards.
Bright sun facing us from the right, but the sights on the carbine well sooted, or maybe I was just luclky and the better shooters were not. Very unusual for them not be getting mid 90s in prone and I'm usually just at or under 90. My off-hand was so-so but no one else was really good.

I'd be happy with those scores, any day of the week.

Thanks. I go every month if I can and that helps even if I can't get in live or dry fire practice in between. A couple years ago I had a total of 257 but the match winner was 281 followed by 280, and three guys in the 270s! I wish more people came out. Its really helped my shooting and at least at this club its a nice atmosphere and run efficiently. There's also no guarentees in anyone's performance. Something with the weather, or the gun, or in your head and you might have a bad day and I think its good to learn that happens and to overcome it. See it even with some of the best guys.

One thing we have to learn on this range is to cope with the sun in our face and the targets in shadow.
