“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”
Edward Bernays, 1928
Much changes, much remains the same.
Yeah Jim & L&S the curl on the hammer spur would certainly bite one if they did not include that spur to protect the firer.
Some were used by Englandduring WW2, I think the serial numbers are available
I believe some were issued to the Long Range Desert Group in Egypt during WW2
I have one that I believe was made in 1945 but not for the British. That would have been pretty cool but no B prefix. It is among the serial numbers sold to the British however meaning that they were fulfilling contracts at the same time for both the British and Argentina
.
Been a long while but supposedly that batch was made from steel from the Graf Spee. That is pretty cool, but they can't verify it. MI6 was involved so much secrecy. But the thing is, Argentina couldn't get steel anywhere else at the time and this huge ship was just sitting there and all of a sudden, this steel suddenly appears.
I believe the steel was from the US under lend-lease.
