I'm not sure who had the worst of it there Bob being inside the tank would be like a refrigerator ICR if I ever heard a Sherman having a crew compartment heater or the PBI lads slogging along in that snow & ice.
Germany's Panther had a ducting system on the left hand rear radiator fan that took hot air ducting it into the crew compartment as a heating system.
Sherman tanks had no heaters and the air to the engine was drawn from the crew compartment at minimum they were out of the wind
