Thanks Georg, theres another thread somewhere, think it was Paul Bleaky who posted it ? part of the body was machined away were the bolt locking lug would lock, it was done to aid loading.
Thanks Georg and to other members, this was the one in post No5, shame pics have gone but not to worry, I've a lot of bits collected over the years to build up a .22 or something different, the problem I've found is the woodwork for the P14/P17 is like hens teeth (when I've been looking) but I won a lovely set from an auction last year for a P14 , so gathering up a few ideas.
I've Probably been watching too much Dads Army over the last few months thats prompting me........ on the subject of Dad Army, I was watching last year There were a few scripts that had the sound recordings but not the film or the film was lost, they improvised by using drawn sketches etc, it was excellent.
Was it this one:

Several years ago I was able to determine that one of my .22 conversion Pattern '14 was done in India based on roundel markings on tghe buttstock flat.
Hey Paul, it would be highly appreciated if you were willing to do the work and re-upload the pictures to many of the threads that you have posted in the P.13/P.14/M1917 section here. Unfortunately the forum deleted a lot of them.
I have not saved a number of photos. Especiallly photos of items that could not be identified. e.g. the Indian .22 pattern 14. Currently taking new photographs are not high on my to do list.
