U.S. Service use of the M1A1?

How long did the Army use the M1A1icon version of the carbine? I've never seen any postwar or Korean War pics of US troops using the M1A1. Was it withdrawn at the end of WWII? They must have seen post WWII use with other countries as the CMPicon is auctioning a few every month. I'm just curious, if any knows TIA.

The M1A1icon was used well into Viet Nam. It was later sent to allies around the world. Where the normal M1 went so did the M1A1. hth
