dont fire that rifle, its a cast receiver..i have persoanlly seen 3 that have failed.
with only 2000 made, thats not good ods.
if you take the rifle apart, youll find a flaw behind the recoil lug. all the ones i saw that failed, gave way in that area.

thats a some good pics, can you email those to me? Nat Ord. Santa fe arms are both sand cast receivers..
iv been telling guys for years, and years what a POS they are. glad you didnt get hurt.

i know that you were trying to be a smart ars, with the link,
ironic. the rifle in the pictures that failed. is a National Ord, or Santafe Arms cast POS.
that make #4 iv seen in bits, all the ones iv seen that failed, were do to case head failure, the receivers are so out of spec, the wont headspace up.
but guys shoot them anyway, if you do, please wear safety glasses, and good gloves.
you wondering how i can tell the rifle isnt a GI A3, ??no stripper clip guide, and a straight pin the holds the trigger in place, and not a step head pin.
i have detailed info , serial number ranges, production dates, ect, on the rifles, and the company if you like, id be happy to share.

why were they allowed to produce / sell these rifles being so unsafe? i still have brass in my upper lip and left eye its all over now and i am mostly healed up but i really wish i didn't have to go through that. it hurt

they were in bus, from 1967 to 1978 if i remember right, the owner took his own life.
they also made the rewelded Garands, 1911 pistols, M14,s ect.
also sand cast Garands, and Carbines,
however, they also sold a semi sporterized GI A3, thats safe to shoot, they are Remingtons or SC rifles, and marked GOLDEN STATE ARMS on the barrel.
