Serial 1815675 S'G' or IP?

Can someone help me. Would carbine 1815675 be an IP carbine or a Saginaw S'G'. Was my Marine raider uncle's in WWII.

What does it say just above the serial number?

Could be both. Rule of thumb for S'G'/IP guns. If it is a 1.7 then it will have 60% IP parts. If 1.8 then 60% S'G' parts. Discounting any rebuilds or restorations. No one is right or wrong when Saginaw guns are involved.

Don't know what it says above serial # because I do not have it. Found this number in his service record where it said he was issued an M1 carbine. Marine Raider, machine gun section leader , KIA. Been looking for the receiver for years, but thought all along I was looking for IP only to realize it might be S'G'
