    No 1 MK VI

I have seen one of these, but it has been "No 4ed". Undoubtedly a Mk VI body, with the low left wall on the receiver, depression behind the safety lever, and a slot for the cut-off plate, but no cut-off, and woodwork, foresight, bolt, have all been upgraded to No 4.

Any particular collector value? or would it just be viewed as an oddball No 4 Mk 1?

    Imho

Yes, it has collectors value for what it is. It is a rare rifle, one of around 1,200 that were made. It was "No. 4'ed" in the early part of WWII, most likely by Enfield, as there was a dire shortage of rifles. Anything that looked like a rifle was pressed into service.
I would think long and hard about "restoring" it.

Patrick, I'm a big believer in 'the history of the rifle'. Unless you know positively that the modifications were made following it being sold out of service, leave it be as it's a story unto itself.
