Inland Spring Tube

Sirs,
I just came into possession of Inland Spring Tube S/N 4519XX With Bbl date of 6/43. I understand from War Baby pages 343 and 344 that these receivers were an attempt to salvage rejects where the operating spring hole did not drill straight and came out of the receiver at some point.
Do any of you have any further info on these?? How many were they? How many have surfaced in these last years??

From my records (low 400,05x to high 565,479), they come up now and then in the 400,000 to 600,000 range. My guess would be less than 5% of this range so 200,000 times .05 is 10,000 possible. Most likley a less percentage than that. So maybe a few thousand survied the war/wars and are still out there. They usually bring 40% to 60% adder to the value. I would think there many collectors who do not have one. I think I only have one. I am not big on early carbines. Maybe BQ can straighten me out or add something. Chris, do you have any information?

You're 100% correct Charlie.

There was once a very intelligent and knowledgeable gentleman on the old CSP forum named 'Bolo-7' who used a similar sounding name and he had forgotten more about carbines than most of us will ever know. I suppose this 'Bubba -7' impostor is only trying to use Bolo's mystic.

I suppose Bolo-7 never figured out how to make it to this new site and faded away...

And Inland got 10,000 spring tubes from Rock-Ola. The odd thing ,though ,is that most were marked with a Q!

I think Jim is speaking of the spring tube housings with a Q on the end and not spring tube receivers.

Yep, the tube on mine is marked with a Q. This is a pretty clean little gun, Type three bb and all visible parts mkd Inland. Nice Hi wood oval cut stock with large Inland cartouche. Sometimes you get lucky...
