    97 riot barrel markings, "riot"

    Did winchester ever mark their 20" 1897 barrels "riot" or were they always "cyl"?? Is the "riot" marked a repro.??

    I've never heard of Winchester using a "riot" marking. Does it look hand stamped? A photo would really help.

    Nope, they were simply marked CYL
    When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!
