Savage Flip-Sight
At a local show today I came across a US Property marked Savage. The odd thing is that the gun had what looked a heckava lot like the flip sight off on early M1
Carbine. It certainly looked like it belong there, though, as it had the round notch at the back like the sight on my Longbranch. Was that a common feature from Savage?

Look real close and you'll find a little square "S" stamped on it. They were made by Lyman on contract for Savage and all Savage No.4's except for some very early Mk1 and possibly a few 1* rifles were equipped with them at the factory.
