Yes! Back to, say, the foresight block band and soft soldering it in place so that it'd be almost invisible. I have just done this to reproduce a couple of Mk5 Sten Gun barrels from some Mk2's. It's a real doddle on the lathe

Dear Peter,
if I were to decide to have this done - would you know someone who could do it properly and to your standards?...

Hi Peter, if I left my house now I could be at Fultons in just over 30 minutes, I'm in deepest, darkest, Surrey.

Then I'd say Fultons. If I couldn't do my own Armouring, they're the only people who'd touch my rifle. If they need to ask me how I did the Sten guns, they'll just phone - but it's a doddle.............

Thanks for the advice Peter, I'll certainly think about it.
